Helping Small Community Businesses to Survive in Times of Uncertainty

#Hangoninthere is a free social media campaign, designed to help small businesses in our local communities to survive the economic devastation created by the Corona Virus.

Currently we are witnessing scenes of panic buying and empty shelves in our supermarkets. Most national stores will be experiencing an economic bounce due to the government’s advice to only go out to buy food, medicines or to go to work. Facebook is currently full of reports that most are recruiting new staff to cope with demand.

However, small businesses are struggling for survival. Many have already put their staff on unpaid leave or, worse still, have been forced to make redundancies. #Hangoninthere is a social media campaign that invites communities to consider buying products and services either online or thought home delivery to make sure that these entrepreneurial businesses don’t go under.

I run a small business – how can I promote it through #Hangoninthere?

If you run a small business (less than 30 staff) and can re-purpose your offering to either provide your services or products online or through home delivery, here’s what you need to do now:

  • Fill in the following form and let us know what you do, what makes your product or services so special and how people can order from you.
  • Attach a couple of good quality, high-resolution Jpeg photos to show you or your team doing what you do best (positive, creative images of you or your team or products are more likely to be used – the more positive or funnier the better).
  • Look out for our #Hangoninthere social media feeds and a) share them (whether they promote your business or not) and b) Buy from other businesses that are being promoted through the campaign.

We will use all social media platforms to promote two businesses each day to increase awareness of what you do and encourage your community to support you.

Whilst we have witnessed the selfish few making life difficult for the many by focusing on their own needs, we are also witnessing an exceptional community spirit too. We hope that #Hangoninthere will go some way to helping you to weather the worst storm of our times and be pull through this unprecedented pandemic together.
