Lily is a behavioural strategist and leadership consultant with 20+ years’ experience of building better businesses and stronger teams. An ex-BBC journalist with a first-class honours degree in Communications (majoring in psychology and corporate communications) Lily has worked with a wide range of company leaders and household names, helping them to understand, communicate with and influence their staff, stakeholders and audiences more effectively. A behavioural and brand development specialist, she also works with companies to help them develop ‘value building behaviours’ within their workforces, ensuring that brand values get off the paper and into the culture of their businesses.
Lily was responsible for designing and delivering the leadership and culture elements of the prestigious Goldman Sachs 10,000 Small Businesses Programme for 9 years. During this time she helped nearly 2000 business leaders and owners to craft their company mission, vision and values, teaching them how to drive values led businesses and develop a more agile and engaging leadership style. She has designed and delivers the Exceptional Non-Executive Director’s Program for Leeds University and also helps businesses to ensure that they are able to access substantial funding to deliver on their growth intentions through Shaw & Co’s Growth Program in Bristol.
Lily is the founder of Frontline, a project which trains wounded ex-servicemen and women to find a new purpose and share their challenging journeys back to health to inspire and motivate others. She is renowned as a razor sharp keynote speaker who delivers speeches on motivation, behavioural change and influence at corporate lunches and conferences across the UK. Thirty years in business, working with people from all walks of life, from top celebrities and business leaders, to orphans in the slums of Sub-Saharan Africa, provide the foundations of her engaging and memorable stories which underpin strong lessons in leadership and communication.
She is a founder of Act4Africa, a charity that delivers HIV and AIDS prevention programs and leadership programs for vulnerable girls and women in Uganda. She is also a proud mother to her birth son Max (19) who is studying Automotive Technology at university and has been responsible for raising 2 orphaned children in Uganda for the past 15 years. Conice (19) is studying Communications at university in Kampala and Tony (15) is at boarding school near Jinja, Uganda and wants to be an engineer.
In 2018, Lily became a Trustee for Press Red, a charity that provides education and empowerment programs, seeking to reduce the threat of violence and abuse against women and girls across the globe.
In her spare time she cycles, swims and bakes cakes (she has to do the former to counteract the latter!) Since the Covid-19 lockdown Lily has set up a new project called #cakesofkindness and has baked over 800 cakes for NHS staff, key workers and vulnerable people in her community. Lily admits that ‘sitting still’ is probably her greatest challenge in life!
